Amy Vachal reimagined *NSYNC’s “Bye Bye Bye” on Monday’s “The Voice.” Watch below!
The Team Adam contestant has found success during the live episodes of season 9 by putting her own spin on popular songs. During the last two weeks she’s reworked Drake’s “Hotline Bling” and Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space.” The latter made her the top-charting “Voice” artist on iTunes last week.
Now her take on one of *NSYNC’s biggest hits earned raves from the panel. Gwen Stefani told Vachal afterward, “I was fantasizing about the tour you can on after this. Just take a bunch of songs, flip them. Everyone wants to see that.” The No Doubt front woman said Vachal was ready to hit the road right now.
Adam Levine explained a bit of their strategy, saying, “I think what we’ve figured out together is the ability to maximize the creative capacity you can have on this show with songs that are not your own.” He told Vachal, “There’s a million different ways a great song can be a great song, and you’re so good at it.”
