For Monday’s “Famous Dance” night, Braxton and Chmerkovskiy captured, along with a troupe of dancers, the militaristic precision of Jackson’s 1989 classic. Guest judge Olivia Newton-John loved their dance. “Great attitude… Very impressed with it,” she told Braxton and Chmerkovskiy. Bruno Tonioli praised Braxton saying, “That’s how you stage a comeback.” He said when Jackson first performed it, “It set the benchmark, and you’re right up there… You were the star of the show.”
Carrie Ann Inaba told Braxton, “Tonight is who you are,” adding, “That was the hardest one to do perfectly, and you nailed it.” And Julianne Hough said, “It was intricate and fast,” noting, “The dance was made for you to perform.”
For their hard work and flawless performance of Janet Jackson’s “Rhythm Nation,” Braxton and Chmerkovskiy received an equally flawless 40 out of 40 score from the judges.
