Adam Lasher and Emily Brooke returned to “American Idol” for the season 15 auditions on Wednesday. Check out the videos below!
Both aspiring stars made it to Hollywood during season 14 last season, and Brooke went as far as the House of Blues showcase, where she got to give a concert performance. Unfortunately, she was eliminated just before the live episodes. Now both came back for the “farewell season” seeking a second chance.
Lasher’s “somber version” of “Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door” had both Jennifer Lopez and Kith Urban praising his voice. Harry Connick, Jr. called the performer’s take a “terrific rendition,” noting, “I see why you went to Hollywood last time.” And now he got the greenlight to return.
For Brooke, she stated that she was “here to prove to the judges that since last season I’ve been working super hard and just getting better at everything they said I needed to work on.” And that’s exactly what she did. Her performance of RaeLynn’s “Careless” was called “excellent” by Keith Urban, and Lopez told her, “You got so much better. We loved you last year. It was hard to let you go last year because we were waiting for this to happen.”
Connick noted, “This was a training ground for you last year… For me that was unquestionably the best audition of the day. I like you a lot better than I did last year, and it makes me proud because that’s what ‘American Idol’ is supposed to do, it fosters the talent.” Watch the full videos below!
