Paige VanZant and Sasha Farber danced a rumba to One Direction’s “Perfect” on this week’s “Dancing With The Stars.” The theme of Monday’s show was “Switch Up,” meaning VanZant danced with Farber instead of her usual partner Mark Ballas. Watch the video below.
VanZant has been amongst the fiercest competitors on “Dancing With The Stars.” Last week, for the second time during the competition, the UFC fighter secured the top of the leaderboard with her impressive quickstep. She also placed in the number one spot with her salsa on “Latin Night.” VanZandt’s foxtrot during the show’s season premiere and her paso doble on “Disney Night” also scored with the judges and audience.
For her rumba on “Switch Up” night, guest judge Maksim Chmerkovskiy said he thought she could win the competition, but he wasn’t fully impressed with her rumba. Len Goodman similarly said, “You’re lovely dancer,” but felt she needed to work on “selling it” to him. Bruno Tonioli expressed, “You were sexy,” adding how he “loved” that she was “dancing from the heart.” And Carrie Ann Inaba praised VanZant, saying, “You are able to be fierce and feminine… I love watching you dance… Really spot on.”
VanZant and Farber’s routine to One Direction’s “Perfect” earned them a total of 31 out of 40 points. Check out the video below of Paige VanZant and Sasha Farber’s rumba on“Switch Up” night.
