Alisan Porter really let her voice fly with her emotional cover of “Let Him Fly” on “The Voice” on Monday. Watch below!
The season 10 frontrunner has stunned again and again throughout the NBC competition with her powerful voice. Last week, Adam Levine even said he predicts she’ll win the whole thing, and he’s not even her in coach. So it was no surprise when she wowed once more during the Top 10 round.
Taking on Patti Griffin’s track, which was memorably covered by the Dixie Chicks on the 1999 album Fly, Porter showed her days as a child star in Curly Sue were long behind her. With maturity and gravitas, the contestant gave a performance that was far more subdued than past weeks, but quite beautiful. Porter even seemed a bit shaken when she was done.
Adam Levine told the actress-singer, “I think the mark of someone who is an artist is someone who uses everything in their life, good or bad, to speak through the music and you did that tonight, and I commend you for that.” Blake Shelton amusingly said, “I already loved you before. Big fan. But now you’re doing country songs, so now I really, really, really love you. Show ’em what to do, Curly Sue!”
And coach Christina Aguilera added, “I’m so proud of you to show your vulnerability with us here on the stage tonight.” Check out the video below!
