The Team Blake contestant has stood out during season 10 for his soulful mix of country with blues and rock and roll. Now for his final three competition performances, Wakefield tried to show why he deserves to win the season. And during the first round, he performed “The Conversation” as a duet with Blake Shelton.
Wakefield returned to the stage to sing his original song “Lonesome, Broken and Blue.” Pharrell told him afterward, “I’m personally looking forward to what music you make when you sign this big deal you’re gonna get.” Adam Levine said, “You did an amazing job. That’s a great song.” And Shelton said he was “blown away,” particularly by the first verse.
Then, for his final performance, Wakefield covered Vince Gill’s “When I Call Your Name.” Christina Aguilera told him afterward, “You’re so talented. I’ve loved every one of your performances.” And Levine noted, “Of all these guys, you have the most impeccable taste with the way you put together a song.”
Shelton even admitted, “I’m dying to look at iTunes right now… You just blew the roof off this place.” Watch below!
