The 1975 performed “The Sound” on this week’s “SNL.” The song is the third single off their new album I Like It When You Sleep, For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware Of It. See the video below of The 1975’s performance of “The Sound” on “Saturday Night Live.”
The is the first time The 1975 has been the musical guest on “Saturday Night Live.” While the band may not be a household name yet to viewers, its lead singer Matt Healy made a number of headlines in late 2014 and early 2015 when he was wrongly linked romantically to Taylor Swift.
One blog made claims about Healy and Swift spent all their time apart sending each other romantic texts, and reported about how they were going to celebrate New Year’s together. Finally, after a slew of inaccurate stories were written about them, Healy told an Australian radio show that all talk of a romantic relationship between him and Swift was “all fake… It’s all a farce.” “It’s funny how people really, really buy into that,” he added.
After “Saturday Night Live,” The 1975 will kick off a huge tour that begins in March and ends in September, and takes the band throughout North America, central Europe, Scandinavia and Japan. The tours starts in their native England.
